The PSI Permanent Collection – “Worth A Thousand Words”

rodney_story_headerIn 1990, our Art Department created The PSI Picasso Group, talented artists attending our day treatment program for adults. The PSI Picasso Group formal artistic training curriculum nurtured the natural artistic abilities of of its members. We encouraged members to develop their natural abilities, pursue their own visions and express their unique styles in graphics and fine arts.

In 1993, The PSI Picasso Group held its first public show titled “…worth a thousand words”, hosted by D.C. Delegate the Honorable Eleanor Holmes Norton. This successful exhibit launched decades of the PSI Picasso Group shows in the Washington Metropolitan Area, and here, on our website.  Click here to see a list of our previous shows.

Through the PSI Picasso Group, its members have given voice to their aspirations replacing many years of silence. The art works of  The Picasso Group sit in permanent collections of businesses and home in the Washington, D.C. area.

The PSI website has an now has an Art Gallery featuring The Picasso Group members’ recent posters, calendars, and note paper. Their works are available for sale online. The works, shown below in the gallery are self-printable posters of select pieces from the PSI Permanent Collection. Please view the artwork below and click on any individual picture to learn more about the individual artist and to purchase a poster. Proceeds from the sale go directly to the individual artists and The PSI Picasso Group artists development program.

At PSI, we strongly believe that the pictures The Picasso Group members create are worth a thousand words, because their work enriches all of our lives.
